Glenn MuirheadGlenn Muirhead

BPhty, Dip MT, BPhed with distinction major in Kinesiology

Glenn has 13 years of experience in sports and general physiotherapy.  All those letters after his name make him well qualified…that’s two bachelor degrees, one in physical education and another in physiotherapy, and he has a Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy.  It won’t surprise you that he is in big demand.

It was an end of an era in late 2008 when Glenn finished up as the physiotherapist for the Hurricanes Super 14 so that he could concentrate on his new challenge – Fatherhood.  Glenn remains the physio for the Junior All Blacks (he worked with the (big) All Blacks during the 2008 season).  Just to show he can see beyond “our national game”, Glenn worked with the world champion NZ Men's Softball team for three years and now also works with upcoming athletes in the NZ Academy of Sport.

Apart from playing NPC rugby himself for Otago (1989-1990) Glenn has proved he’s still got it by making 3 top 5 finishes in the Speight’s' Coast to Coast race in the last 6 years.  He says the races have given him a stark reminder of the need for physiotherapists.
